Septuagint search (Greek Old Testament)

Search for words, inflected forms and word combinations in the Septuagint (LXX), the Greek translation of the Old Testament, in H. B. Swete’s edition. The search uses the same lemmas as the Greek New Testament search, so you can compare the language of the LXX and the New Testament directly.

The LXX has no syntax trees, so the search is based on part of speech, inflection, lemma and word order within the verse. Words whose form also occurs in the New Testament are analysed according to MACULA; the rest (about 14%) are analysed automatically and may contain errors. Psalms and Jeremiah follow the LXX’s own numbering. The Greek New Testament and Hebrew Old Testament searches are under Syntax search in the Greek New Testament and Syntax search in the Hebrew Old Testament.
