Which words carry a Bible passage? Word frequency counts the word roots in the original text – Greek in the New Testament and Hebrew in the Old Testament – and lists them by how often they occur. Because it counts by root (lemma) rather than by inflected form, all forms of a word are grouped together.
How to use the tool
Enter a Bible passage, e.g. Rom 1:1-4:25, John 1 or Ps 23, and click “Show word roots”. Use the buttons below the field to limit the list to one part of speech, such as verbs, nouns or proper names.
NT: Rom 1,1-4,25 · Joh 1 · 1Kor 13,1-13
GT: 1Mos 1-3 · Sl 23 · Es 52,13-53,12
